Our family has been making wine with passion and commitment for over 50 years. The estate’s founder, Andrea Paolo Comis, set up the winery way back in 1966, even before the creation of the Consorzio Tutela Vini del Collio in 1968. Since then, from generation to generation, our wine has been made in compliance with traditional logic and antique skill, now using modern technologies. The old house that is now home to the estate, and which dates back to 1800, is where a famous poet from Friuli, Pietro Zorutti, was born and lived for many years. Zorutti wrote his poetry in the dialect spoken in the Friuli region, bringing it out of the countryside and transforming it into a cultural testimony in the rest of Italy and the world. In his honour and memory, Andrea Paolo Comis decided to call the family winegrowing estate “Zorutti”.
We have created a label that expresses itself simply and directly: it speaks of our symbols, our places and our work. The packaging features a little church which, in a different colour for each different wine, aims to convey our spontaneous sincere soul to friends and clients.
A path which climbs to the top of our hills. An itinerary which we imagine can link all our past vintages and harvests in time.
Traced in the middle of the label, joined to the little church, reflects the “Z” of Zorutti, the surname of the famous poet to whom the past, present and future of our estate ae dedicated.
Stylised on our bottles, it reminds us of our farming heritage and is a protective symbol for the vineyards and those of us who tend them.
Just a few, clear and significant symbols, against a white background which represents the nature that surrounds us. It is Mother Nature that has been deciding the destiny of the earth’s crops, for millions of years: man adds his creativity and passion, leaving space for the vine, the earth and the sun.
