Made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Refosco grapes. Maceration on skins for 20 days, with careful pumping over. The wine ages in casks or barriques for 12 months, deciding the proportions of each grape and the age of the wood depending on the vintage. The wine is bottled in summer and ages in the bottle for 12 months before being released for sale. The ruby red colour has violet nuances when young, turning garnet with age. The bouquet is rich, sumptuous and varied, full and very well structured, reminiscent of very ripe red berries, spices, vanilla and liquorice. The palate is dry, generous, full-bodied and well-structured.
This wine pairs with classic and regional meat dishes, roasted or stewed. Also excellent with mature cheeses.
Serve at a temperature of about 18 °C.
